Lotus is an advanced hip opener pose but with the correct warm up and time it can be achieved. Start with Bound Angle Pose (Baddha konasana), continue with Fire Log Pose (Agnistambhasana). Take your time, when ready try the half Lotus to see if you are able to place one of your foot over the opposite thigh. Finally try the full Lotus, or for a greater challenge, Hidden Lotus (Gupta Padmasana), remember to breathe!
